  • Communication: If you message another user or contact support, we store those communications to facilitate the exchange.

  • Location Data: With your permission, we use approximate location data (like your city or neighborhood) to show you the most relevant local posts.

  • Usage Patterns: We track which categories (e.g., "Free Items" vs. "Local Festivals") are most popular to improve the app experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We don’t just collect data for the sake of it. We use it to:

  • Personalize your feed so you see Baltimore-area events that actually matter to you.

  • Facilitate transactions, allowing neighbors to connect for sales or donations.

  • Maintain safety by monitoring for spam or fraudulent business advertisements.

  • Send updates about your posts or community alerts (you can opt out of these anytime).

3. Data Sharing & Visibility

Public vs. Private:

  • Public: Anything you post in the "Events," "Marketplace," or "Business" sections is visible to all app users. Please avoid posting sensitive personal info (like your home address) in public descriptions.

  • Private: Your email address and precise location are never sold to third parties or shared with other users without your explicit consent.

Note on Third Parties: We may use verified partners for technical services (like hosting our database), but they are legally bound to keep your data confidential.

4. Your Control & Rights

You are in the driver's seat of your data. You have the right to:

  1. Edit or Delete: You can modify or remove your posts and account information at any time.

  2. Data Portability: You can request a copy of the data you’ve shared with us.
